Julie Sundaygar poses for a portrait inside an abandoned historic building in downtown Monrovia, Liberia. Sundaygar and other "market women" store their fruit in the crumbling structure, known as the Edward J. Roye Building. Once a site for male-dominated legislative meetings, today, women rule the compound, aided by their strong sons. In a country struggling to gain a foothold after two civil wars and an Ebola outbreak, women like Sundaygar inspire unbreakable resilience. Check out the awarded entry on the IPA site.
